Seriously though, I enjoy later "metal" and really dig the latest incarnation of Megadeth (Broderick is ****ing awesome). But I never understood Korn, even living in LA in the early 90's.
They just don't vibe with me. I don't like their sound (the bass is too clicky and the guitarist is mediocre at best) and I never like the production because it was always so digital and thin.
I guess I just never connected with them.

I can buy that. the drop-d tuning that they started (well, they didn't start it, but they really made it popular in the early 90's--after they got big doing it, many more bands seemingly followed) ran rampant in early 90's 'rock/metal/whatever the hell you want to call it.' I love a lot of fieldy's driving, pounding bass throughout early korn. that's just me, though.
