I agree. The looking at the arrivals/departures board completely echoes the advice that he was given about all of his mileage earlier about just picking some place and going there. On top of that, it ends with a voiceover of his same speech that he gives each time of "Tonight most people will be welcomed home by jumping dogs & squealing kids. Their spouses will ask about their day. Tonight they'll sleep. The stars will wield forth from their daytime hiding places, and one of those lights, slightly brighter than the rest, will be my wingtip passing over" only this time it resonates with new meaning, impacted and changed by the events of the movie.
BTW, that whole movie was filmed in St. Louis. The weirdest ****ing thing was that one of my wife's good friends from high school was one of the guys fired. We saw him get fired, my wife was like, "That was Casey Bartel that just got fired." We reversed and looked again. It was definitely him. We then found out that tons of it was filmed in St. Louis, where they grew up.
