They loved to hint at big ideas with book references and character names but to me those themes existed only on the periphery. Again, just for clarity, I LOVED the show, just didn't think it was deep.

But I guess I distinguish between 24 or Chuck and LOST in terms of what is and isn't "fluff". Or for that matter, sit coms.
