The difference here is that we don't have to choose anyone. We have Soria locked up long term for cheap money. Butler will have to get paid more but as long as he doesn't explode for 30 HR's he shouldn't be all that expensive. All that leaves us with is Greinke and therefore we can throw a large sum of money at him at not hurt the flexibility of the franchise. The Royals have shown they are willing to keep one guy around for quite a bit of money(Sweeney), so it might as well be Greinke.
