After looking at the first-round money in the 2010 draft, did we go cheap by not taking Zach Lee? Allegedly, there wasn't legit talent outside of the top 3, and then this kid gets over $5M at the bottom of the round? The Dodgers gave this kid more than they gave to Kershaw...
I don't know much about Lee, other than the basics. Just seems very, very strange. And, yeah, lots of teams passed, but I still think it's inexcusable to pass on the BPA for any team. The relative cost is just too damn low.

Lee is a special case because most didn't believe he would forgo his LSU football and baseball commitment. He openly stated he was planning on going to LSU, but apparently summer ball was not kind to him, and he found himself locked in as the 3rd QB. Supposedly that lack of early success made him open up a bit more to signing with LA.
Also, since he is a two-sport athlete, LA gets to spread out his bonus over 5 years instead of paying that in one lump sum.
