Preseason isnt about doing whats right in real game situations, it is about learning how to be the team we are trying to create. Sorry, but what I saw watching from my seats last night was a team trying to be more physical.. against a team know for its physicality and a team that completely dismantled us last year.
Your issue as with many this year apparently, is to beat a dead horse about Cassel's ability. Its dead. YES we know he isnt the answer. YES we should have someone behind him developing. But whats the point of consistently asking a guy to be something he isnt?
Again, its borderline slinging shit or pushing buttons.. You are a better football guy than that. Dont be that guy whose knowledge is internet fed.

Perhaps my expectations from a 60 million dollar QB may be different than yours then. My expectations from him is to be an actual QB, who can make the proper reads, instead of having to check down the RB practically 90 some percent of the time (yes, maybe a exaggeration, but it's the feeling nonethless), which we have been seeing so far up to this point. Most other QB's in the NFL, either starter or back-up, can do the same thing Cassel is doing for far much cheaper price. In all, he's not playing like a $60 million dollar QB should be playing.
And from your point of view, that they were trying to be physical, I do agree with you on that assessment, on defense. On offense, it's a work in progess, but if the Eagles game was any indicator of it, then there's some progress, progress that we all want to see, becuase we didn't have that physical game last year.
My issue isn't about beating the dead horse. My issue here is, how come the coaching staff, or to a degree, the GM, still continue to trot the dead horse out there, when there is no apparent progress up to this point, and nothing was addressed on the depth on that particitular position before the season started. My issue is the how people at 1 Arrowhead Drive don't see the big picture on Cassel?
And for whatever it's worth, I don't think it is slinging shit or pushing buttons. I call how I see it, and if people doesn't like it, then that's their problem. They need to grow some thick skin or move on.
