I have a hard and fast rule about bands: if the founders/songwriters leave, it's not the same band.
There is no Iron Maiden without Steve Harris and Dave Murray.
There is no KISS without Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons.
There is no Metallica without Hetfield, Hammett, and Ulrich.
There is no Rush without... well, all three of 'em, LOL.
Et cetera.
