I'm so glad to see how many of you think this is low, low behaviour.
I have a huge issue with this; my 13 year old son has been in a wheelchair since he became too big to carry and I could go on for hours; please forgive my rant, but...
...at a little league game a few years ago, with my handicapped son there, another family told my wife and I how clever they were at Disneyland because they had their son put an old cast on his leg (wrapped an ace bandage around it) and got a free wheelchair and got to go to the front of the lines...how they beat the system...they sat there like we should be impressed. I'm not usually too aggressive, but I said "You're fucking kidding me, right?" Then they clued in to where I was coming from and clammed up...unbelievable.
I see people ALL THE TIME parking in handicapped spots when they're not; they often have the placard, but because of a handicapped relative or whatever and they just love to gobble those spaces up...like it's a magic card that gives them entitlement even when not needed. It's epidemic. Whatever happened to a little dignity and pride? My dad is 90 and he refuses to park in the handicapped spaces, and although he walks with a cane, he insists he's not handicapped. The spaces are great; they are truly a needed item for many people, but the abusers I can't stand...and every once in a while, I share my thoughts with them.
