I completely disagree.
When you can routinely put up 175 yards on the ground while your defense plays "within" itself, as long as the QB can put up respectable numbers and keep the opposing defenses honest, you can go a long way.
The Patriots of 2001 had the 24th ranked overall defense (6th in points) and I don't believe they had a pass rusher like Hali, yet they won the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs are currently 13th in points given up. They're most certainly starting to resemble the 2001 Patriots on the defensive side of the ball.
