I am going to start prepping the server for the new version of Vbulletin... the PLAN is to make a test directory with a copy of the DB and upgrade THAT.. from there we can modify all the themes and get everything tweaked (documenting EVERYTHING as we go...). Once the test forum is how we want it... we can export/save most of the changes, upgrade the actual forum and apply the changes all at once..
That seems like the most painless path to take...
I will probably start on that ASAP so we can take as long as we need to to get it perfect.
Any thoughts?
Oh, and here are the features for the new version..

I am probably going to get the full SUITE even if we don't end up using the CMS, BLOGS, or PUBLISHING features... although I would LOVE to have some of you guys write articles if anyone is willing.

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. Based on what I know about vB 4, it's gonna take some major work from a visual standpoint to get it looking good again. They've changed the styles system pretty significantly, so I'm not even 100% sure that we''ll be able to start out with our current style - it may be a "ground zero" setup - so a test server would be nifty.
