He went from a track star at Texas/RB at Texas that didnt lift and was perceived as a easy tackle because lifting weights negatively effects a sprinters speed and flexibility, to playing under one of the best running backs coaches in the game (Carthon) and in a great strength program with a mentor veteran like Jones to show him how much lifting helps keep your body prepared for the long haul.
I dont think we have even seen Jamaal at his best, I think that by the middle of next year we will start seeing him finish runs similarly to how Priest did (punishing defenders) and that by that time, Haley will have him running routes similarly to how Priest did so that we will be able to line him up out wide more and more to exploit matchups.
Just watch.
We are far from seeing the best that Charles can be and what we have seen is GREAT.
