If Greinke is a 5 WAR pitcher, and you reduce his numbers appropriately for the AL East competition, he doesn't end up looking that much better than a few guys that they already have. And even if he does prove he can pitch like Halladay in the division, what's the point of acquiring another pitcher like that at the expense of Travis Snider when you're not going to contend until 2013 anyway?
There are much better fits for Greinke elsewhere.
