Cassel has not demonstrated the potential to become a Super Bowl quarterback, and it's not like he's a young rookie who might be a late bloomer. When is he going to finally "get it"? When he's 35? How many more "first _____" games does he need to play for everything to finally click?
Giving him more time does nothing but resign this team to a few mediocre seasons and embarrassing first round playoff losses. If you're satisfied with that, fine.
I'm in love with this idea.
Yes, when you frame your argument to eliminate everything that goes against you and emphasize everything that favors you, your argument looks better. This is not a shock. Do you think other QBs don't put up numbers against lesser teams? The Colts don't sit Manning when the 2 win teams come to town, after all.
As for your "potential" argument, that's a load of bullshit, as I've already demonstrated with the first games of Manning and Flacco. Cassel may, or may not, be able to get it done in the playoffs, but attempting to be definitive about that after one playoff game is about as stupid as it gets.
