I don't know who called that play, but if it was Weiss, I'm glad he's gone. If it was Haley, I just hope he learns from such a stupid mistake. If it were even a full yard, I could probably understand, but they needed LESS THAN A FOOT and ran a play that moved the ball laterally behind the line of scrimmage about 4 yards.
I'd even be OK with that play on 3rd and short. But on 4th down, you either run a sneak or give one of the bruisers the ball up the gut.
