What has he done when something absolutely needed to happen? He had one drive to put his team in position to win. However, before you jimp, the ball was on the 50, they ran twice, and he threw a jump ball to a 6'5 receiver on a 5'9 corner that pretty much any QB could make in the NFL. He was epically bad most of that game, but his defense kept him in it.

Sanchez is a good quarterback that benefits from an all-world OL and a stud defense. He has a coach that takes ALL heat off him with his ridiculous rants. It's impressive he keeps winning no doubt, and I clearly think he's better than Cassel, but there's no chance I think he replicates his success here based on the lack off offensive line, and the defense not being at the Jets level.
The starting corners for Baltimore were 5'9'' and 5'10'' and our starting receivers were 6'2'' (Bowe) and 6'1'' (Tucker)

And as ROR said, Cassel has had three years starting, which equates to 45 starts.

After four seasons in KC Grbac had 47 starts.
Pure and simple, Cassel started playing better at the point that most good quarterbacks turn a huge corner for their career. After 36 starts. I said this toward the beginning of the season and reiterated it before he made his jump during the Denver game...its not an EXACT science, but its damn close.

I have hope that the guy can continue to develop and get better IF (and this is a HUGE if) we can get a god QB coach/OC in here that can bring him along similarly to how Weis did. I know the options at this point are getting slim, but there are surely options.

Tom Clements of GB
Matt Cavenaugh NYJ QB coach
Randy Fichtner Pittsburgh QB coach
Joe Lombardi NO QB coach
Jeremy Bates Formerly of Seattle

I dont know everything about these guys, but I know that the players under their watch have looked better for it.

If Haley is indeed looking to call the plays and teach an up and comer how he wants it done, these co0uld be worthy candidates.
