It's been three years as a starter for Branden Albert and people are still making excuses for his level of play (or lack thereof). I don't know why a guy like Jackson isn't be given the same level of consideration as Albert is around here in terms of "needs time to develop his game."
To echo Milk, I thought he showed a few things at the end of the season that were promising (also prior to his injury at the start of the season). I think that there is some potential there that, if healthy, would lead one to believe that he'll be an effective five tech. It's not like the position mandates some athletic freak of nature. The guy needs to be big and long and tie up blockers/fill the gaps and keep the linemen off the linebackers. That's about it. Anything else is gravy.
