I understand your arguement against putting too much money into a position, but I don't totally agree with that arguement. I am into paying players that are going to produce much more than I am into paying several 2nd tier players to fill out rosters spots to battle other 2nd tier players.
I do agree with the biggest bucks should go to the QB position, but that seems to be out of the question in the next couple of weeks.
If we look at our defensive line, we have a couple of fairly large contracts given to Dorsey and Jackson... regardless of what everyone thinks of them... and adding a high priced 2nd tier NT to the group kind of overspends at that position, and maybe or maybe not is an upgrade to that position.
Adding NA to the secondary upgrades our whole defense, and that is not a knock on either Carr or Flowers. Nickel defenses are on the field a whole bunch.
NA, Flowers, and Carr matched up againse some of the talent on the teams we must face each year does a lot more for me than Flowers, Carr, and Arenas.
Do I expect us to make a pitch to NA? Probably not. But I would give him a phone call none the less to guage if there is any interest on NA's part in comming to KC.
