Who said they didn't give him a second round grade? Guys with high grades drop all the time for different reasons. You know why he dropped.

Not all NT's are created equal. Like I said, Franklin is great against the run, but has never been much of a presence in the pass rush. He's a two down guy who will command 3 down money.

Apart from that, I'm merely talking about moves that I believe will bring playmakers in KC, and that that should be on defense because it's clear that defense is going to be a huge part of how we win football games until Cassel gives me reason to believe otherwise.

Man, we all have our wet dream FA list every year. Look at this team though and tell me which playmakers were signed as FA's? I personally don't want to go back the the Carl Peterson days. First it's this guy who's front loaded contract won't kill us, then the next year when we don't win it, it's this other guy, and another. Forcing us into win now mode(gotta win before all these stud FA signings contracts run out causing us to decline when we can no longer afford them and they leave) and throwing us into cap hell.
I'm all for breaking the bank for the big signing when he can truly put us over the top NOW. They won't though. We'll have a stud defense and an offense playing catch up.
I'd rather see us sign our own guys, and extend as many contracts as we feel necessary, then, with the money left over, frontload a guy or two's contracts. If we were able to do that though, we wouldn't have the jack for both Franklin and Woodley.
