KU and KSU are not legally tied to one another. KU's best hope is that the PAC convinces Texas-OU-OSU to join them and then prefers KU to Tech. Tech has the advantage of an in state ally and better football program, but KU holds the advantage in everything else: potential market share, national recognition from its basketball program and an expanded geographic footprint. I actually like our chances against Tech.
