My wife is pretty passive when it comes to that stuff though so she probably didn't do anything to discourage them from going if they hinted at it.
I mean, it will probably end up being OK. It'll certainly make it easier to entertain the kids, and our kids will surely love having their friends along. Plus, it's not like we don't get along with this other couple.
I guess I just hate feeling restricted on what we do and when we do it and I'm certain that will happen. I was also looking forward to the quality family time with just us.

Having spent enough time around women and their friends, I have no problem saying that your wife said/did something to suggest to her friend that she would be welcome to come along.
