I'd put money on Fisher/Cowher or someone very similar. It's not going to be an unproven candidate because this might well be the last hire that Pioli is allowed to make. If the next HC fails, it's going to be Pioli who is fired as well.
The parallels between Dayton Moore and Pioli continue to be striking. Both came in with tremendous hype, and then promptly managed to shit the bed. Moore eventually cut bait with his first failed coaching hire, made a few savvy moves, and now the team seems to be dangerously close to being well poised.
Let's hope Pioli can follow the same path.
