Wichita --- Wichita Heights 6'8" forward Perry Ellis announced that he'll play his college ball at the University of Kansas. Ellis chose KU over Kansas State, Kentucky and home town Wichita State.

Although the commitment is solid to the Jayhawks, it is not binding. Ellis plans on making it official in November when he signs a National Letter of Intent.

"I just felt so comfortable at KU" Ellis said in a news conference Wednesday afternoon at the Wichita Heights gym. "It's been in my mind for awhile now."

Ellis, the #24 recruit in the country according to Rivals.com, still has to finish his senior year with the Falcons before he joins Bill Self's program. In his 3 years at Heights, the Falcons have won 3 6A state titles. He has also been named the Gatorade Player of the Year 3 times. During his junior year at WHHS, Ellis averaged 22.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 blocks per game.

WIBW-TV contacted KU for a statement regarding the commitment and was told "Unfortunately, we cannot comment on any recruits anything until signing day in November."

Awesome news!.....from 2 months ago.
