Orton is no worse than an average starting NFL quarterback, which makes him a hell of a lot better than Cassel.
He could step in for the remainder of the year and we could see how he works with the staff. If he's solid, we could see if he'd be interested in a 2-yr deal while we try to develop Robert Griffin (who will need a lot of seasoning).
Or we could just let him walk. It's really a zero-risk acquisition. I'd be pretty annoyed if we just ignored him.
And we certainly will.
