The fascinating thing is that this poll has made a fundamental change as more people have responded to it. Early on, the leaders after Missouri were adjacent states to Missouri - Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas, Tennessee, etc.

But as more people have responded, the tourist states have suddenly jumped past the adjacent states. California, Florida, and Colorado have come on very strongly.

I'm not sure what Texas counts as, but it's made an enormous run. I suspect it's part tourism, and maybe mostly tourism, though I'm not sure what you do as a Texas tourist. Or maybe it's a big enough state that a lot of people have friends and relatives who move there.
