I don't see it that way... I think he gets the easy out here... if Crennel wins out, he "has" to keep him and doesn't need to take any big risks.. if Crennel loses to EITHER Oakland or Denver... all the optimism the fans have right now will evaporate.. and make it easy to pick a new coach.
The problem will be with Muir if we win out and the offense takes significant strides forward. Much harder for Pioli to excuse firing him at that point.
