(No but seriously, I have zero idea what the background is with Sofa King or the thread you alluded to, but "tranny" is incredibly demeaning, hurtful language and is regularly used to humiliate, dehumanize, and threaten Actual Human Beings™ who already have to face myriad challenges just to live relatively peaceful lives with a modicum of basic human dignity. It's a genuinely threatening word to encounter and being trans sucks enough without a word floating around in common parlance that turns trans people into a punchline -- a punchline that's at a far higher risk of assault and murder than the general population in large part because it's incredibly easy for people to think of
trannies as Not Real People. This isn't intended to scold you or ask for an apology, because I understand it's a relatively socially acceptable word, but if you -- and anyone else who uses it -- could just
consider not using it, that would be very awesome.)
