Because if you have Orton, Charles and Richardson - having Orton move you between the 20s may just be be good enough to do some serious damage, even in the playoffs.

Once you get down to the 15, you can lean hard on that 2-headed monster in the backfield. And moving between the 20s keeps your defense off the field to boot. Suddenly your defense has improved a great deal as well.

Moving between he 20's may be all it takes to take the Chiefs from an 8 win team to the best team in football that doesn't have a superstar QB (that includes the Ravens, 49ers and Falcons). From there, we can continue to look for the star QB.

I don't see what's farfetched or unreasonable about any of that.
