The jury is out on Luck and Griffin and whoever the hot names will be one year from now, too. The jury is in, however, when it comes to Matt Cassel- he sucks.
In my opinion, retaining Matt Cassel provides no real benefit and only delays the arrival of a legit QB. If I were GM, I would drop Cassel immediately and start trying to identify a legit prospect. And if I were unable to find one this year, I would go with Stanzi and try again next year. If Stanzi tears it up- great! Problem solved. If Stanzi stinks it up- great! We know he's not the answer and our crappy record will likely have us in position to draft the next Andrew Luck. Either way, we would be farther along than we are with Cassel.
