Your response shows what a gimmick the tourney really is. The best team in the country has a 50-50 shot at winning the title, and that seems ridiculously high.
I'd bet against them winning it.
Let's say Kentucky has a 100% chance of winning in the first and second rounds and a 90% chance of winning each game until the final four and an 80% chance each game after that (all preposterously high). They would still be only slightly better than a coin flip to win the whole thing.
If you give them only 99% in the first round and 98% in the second, it's 50%.
