I hope your daughter didn't have to watch that. I watched my stepdad beat up my dad and it was the most traumatic memory of my childhood. I blame both of them for ever letting it get to that, but my stepdad more obviously. Your daughter may recognize that you came to her defense, but she will still probably be mad at you for not showing more self-restraint.
