You seem to be under the delusion that Santorum or Gingrich would not be torn apart limb from limb by Obama. If either of them were nominated, the only question left to answer would be whether or not Obama could get close to 400 electoral votes.
Romney may or may not win, especially since an improving economy would take out his first, last, and only argument, but he's the only one in the field with a reasonable shot.
