You can't eat 2000 calories of table sugar, that was his point.
2000 calories of table sugar is about 2 and half cups. If you ate that for breakfast, you'd be hungry again by about 10am and you'd be ready to kill somebody for some food by dinner time.
In order to actually be SATED, you'd have to eat 6-8000 calories of table sugar EVERY DAY.
So back to his point - if you eat a sensible amount of calories, it's almost impossible to "overdose" on the stuff that's bad for you.
