Sunglasses need to do two things: 1) Block 100% of UVA and UVB (and preferably some blue light) and 2) be polarizing and darkening enough to do what they're named for (i.e. blocking the sun from blinding you). After those two facts, you're paying for the name and the style. A $20 pair of sunglasses from Sunglass Hut are just as effective as a $200 pair... and sometimes more effective. Just as I wouldn't buy a $200 pair of sneakers or a $200 pair of pants, I don't buy $200 sunglasses. Aside from being able to say, "Hey, do you like my $200 sunglasses" as a way of telling people how rich you are, there's little point.
