Since the first three books were published before LOST was conceived and the fourth book was basically written, though not yet published, before the pilot of LOST aired, I'm guessing that's not entirely accurate.
But I know Martin was a fan of LOST. Just as Damon Lindelof is a fan of A Song Of Ice And Fire. I also know George Martin drastically misinterpreted the the finale of LOST and was very vocal about his disappointment in the way that the show ended. And I know that Damon was bothered by that. But, again, most of Martin's disappointment was based on misunderstanding.
I think he and Damon have since talked and reconciled their differences. And Damon is still a huge fan of ASoIaF.
