Bigger difference than you think. Maybe not so much for me, because I'm not 18 years old. A kid living at home to save up money for those expenses and be able to move out when he's ready is considerably different then going off to college, forced to live in a dorm, and eat out because there's no kitchen.
The difference being is that a wealthy person can afford to pay his mortgage and help with rent and college expenses.
