I just read this Tallahassee
newspaper article that just got put out. In that article, if true, he makes it clear that all football and basketball games are owned by ESPN, including non-conference games. (Any game they don't show, is put on ESPN3 or farmed out)
If true, then the BOT chair is simply wrong when he was ranting about basketball favoritism. However, that said, I'm not impressed at all. In the Big 12, schools have quite a bit of T3 inventory, not talking about coaches shows or internet, I mean real T3 inventory, to sell. Despite giving all their T3 to ESPN, the ACC will still make a ton less.
So, that one little aspect of the BOT chair's criticism might be wrong, but it should do absolutely nothing to change where this is apparently going.
