Somewhat bothered by the fact that the engineer at the end didn't die in the jockey seat. Went back when I got home, and in Alien they make a point of showing and commenting about a chestburster breaking through. I understand most of what you see in Alien is the exoskeleton, but there's a freakin' hole in it, and they actually talk about something having burst out. Then in this, the engineer dies somewhere else. Pretty major inconsistency.

It obviously wasn't the same engineer. Remember, at the end of the movie they left in another alien ship that appeared to be identical to the others, on a journey to find other engineers. And the chest burster hasn't yet evolved into the one the Nostromo crew encounters later, either.
