It may sound overly simplistic but I also believe in the "hitting is contagious" idea. When you're surrounded by fail it has to temper your expectations/attitude at least some. When other guys are hitting you should feel like you can and should do it too. Someone get it started and others are more likely to follow from a pure confidence standpoint.
It also helps if your pitcher is keeping you in the game.
