I don't disagree with you that people like their conviences but even with a heavier car and a lot more luxuries, the battery technology HAS to be much better than it is now. If you look at most sectors since 1992 they are far advanced.
Look I'm not a conspirity theorist in the least but it does make perfect sense that as long as that market is limited it keeps the money flowing for the other industries.
Its all about money
