I agree with the last part but to be fair to Paulino it doesn't matter where or how you got a guy. If he produces then it's reasonable to count on him. We have to remember Paulino has only been a pitcher for about six years. Even with his surgery picking him up was a good move.

I agree that it was a fantastic move. What I'm saying, though, is that DM didn't even evaluate Paulino accurately, despite his performance for the Royals in the second half, which is why he was fighting for a spot in the rotation come spring.
And I couldn't care less about Spring Training numbers.
