But this is part of the problem. Paulino seemed like a great find. Pitchers who can get the swing and miss aren't everywhere.
However, if you "count" on a pitcher whom you literally found in the trash, you're going to get burned. Evidence A: Our Time. We need to learn from this mistake.
I don't care if Guthrie strings together several good starts in a worthless second half; he's not an answer for '13. That doesn't exclude him from developing into one next year, but we cannot start the year with this faulty assumption.
