They've done such a masterful job of contrasting Walt with Jesse. The point when Walt and Mike are arguing about their cut, and Jesse just throws his cut in to make them stop arguing (he's not greedy, doesn't give a **** about the money really). The real reason Jesse does what he does is because he's not a complete ****up at it, and he feels like Walt is family. The simplicity of him offering Walt the watch was also endearing. Jesse is just such a good ****ing guy, even if he is a major meth dealer and has murdered people. Walt, on the other hand, is a horrible human being, and a meth dealer, and a murderer.
So you have these two guys who are, really, guilty of the same thing. Live parallel lives. Partners. They engage in the exactly same activities. Yet... one is good and one is evil. Kind of crazy.
