Other teams have also had long stretches. It's not just K.C..
Dolphins went from 1983-2012
Steelers went from 1980-2004
Vikings went from 1977-1999
Saints haven't drafted one since 1981
Eagles went from 1972-1999
Rams went from 1964-2010
Cowboys went from 1965-1989
