True enough, but it just enfuriates me that people do this shit and nothing really happens to them. Some prick got ahold of my debit card number about 10 years ago. Luckily I caught it almost immediately. Cost me a morning of aggravation but I didn't lose any money. The shitty part is I found out who he was. He had ordered internet service from a local company and the rep from that company had recently been victimized herself, so she (against policy) gave me the guy's name and address. Last name was King, lived in Orlando. I called the Orlando police, and they told me to call my local police. My local police told me to call Orlando. Nobody gave a shit. I suppose I could have driven down there and stabbed him in the face, but sadly that would have been illegal. So he basically got away with it, and I wonder how many identities he's successfully stolen in the decade since?
I'm not generally much of a fan of Arab culture, but I do like the way they deal with thieves. I'd love to see how well these pricks could hack typing with stumps instead of fingers.
