You either have to play really really good or get lucky to even get a shot at playing a regular season game in most cases. By the time New England had Cassel, they were transitioning and just starting to rebuild. They won two Superbowls with Flutie and Huard as the #2 and #3. I like this formula better. They let Huard walk when their chances of winning a Superbowl went down.
Again, we are in a position to make a real run. I don't believe Stanzi is the answer. If it were up to me, I would try and trade Bowe and stock pile picks for next year. If Cassel has a great year like I think he will, I would keep him. Then, move up in the draft and get a QB that we could really start to groom behind him.
Look man, when you are a late round draft pick, you have to show something which brings me back to my point. Stanzi had better show something.
