I work what's called a 9/80.
Week 1: 4x9, 1x8
Week 2: 4x9
It's awesome because you get a friday every other week to take care of whatever business you need to. I rarely have to use my vacation days for stuff.
I don't even notice the extra hour...I'm usually here closer to 10 hours most days anyway (depending on what is going on of course).
Here's how you deal with longer days: stay busy. If you are bored the days will seem loooonnnggg.
A couple of months ago I worked 7x12 for about 3 months straight. That sucked incredible balls.
