Brady Morningstar and Tyrel Reed were 3* recruits. They both turned into solid contributors/role players who didn't do anything their first few years and both took a red shirt.
Would you call that "very good?" I wouldn't necessarily, but I'm sure it does happen. Markieff Morris I think was a 3 star and he was a beast by his junior year. He was a lottery pick and also started a bit his rookie season in the NBA. I'd call that very good.

Those guys were good mainly because of lottery picks in the post helped open up their game. Could you win with a team of Morningstars and Reeds? I guess that's a better question.
