I've been busy this past week, so I'm just getting around to seeing this. The question is a lot trickier than you'd think. We dump quite a few accounts on a daily basis because they're likely spam bots, mults, etc. Because of that, the "new users" stats are pretty shaky. In fact, the new mod team started moderating new users this year, so many don't even hit the stats.
Anyway, here's the graph to prove the point, but the basic idea is: it's tough to say.
