Don't know, was asking since you had replied. With the number of cars in America it would seem it will take a god-awful amount of electricity to power them.
As to solar, I live in Phoenix and it hasn't caught on here due to the expense. If it isn't working in Phoenix, it isn't working on a large scale anywhere.
