Well, if we seriously want to go that route. We now have a weapon (in the lab only at this point) that can shoot DIRECTED lightning bolts.
It's pretty sweet actually... it uses a short laser pulse to basically create a "channel" for high voltage to travel down through the air to the target.
Fire AND lightning from the sky! That's some cool shit.
